How I Began
Why am I doing what I do? Basically because I was asked to. I am Lorella and here is how I began "Italian Lessons in Tuscany".
During a three-month trip to the United States in 2003, friends said, “You are so good with languages, I wish I could speak Italian!” They then asked me to teach them.
Something in their eyes and voices made me love the idea of helping those who are passionate about learning the Italian language. A bell rang in my head and the adventure began!
My Method
My approach is practical, communicative, and personalized.
I believe you learn a language best when you can immediately use what you learn. That's why my lessons focus on practical Italian for real-life situations—the kind of Italian you need when you travel, meet people, go to a café or restaurant, go shopping, ask for information, or simply have a conversation with a local.
Instead of simply studying grammar rules and memorizing lists of words, we use vocabulary and grammar as tools for communicating in real situations. You learn something and then put it into practice.
You may already know more Italian than you think. Sometimes the problem isn't learning more—it is putting together what you already know, using it, and gaining confidence.
Mistakes are not a problem—they are part of learning. We all learn by making mistakes, even though, as adults, we sometimes forget that! So don't worry about getting everything right. Speak, make mistakes, learn from them, and have fun along the way.
My goal is simple: I want you to feel comfortable using Italian in real life. I want you to be able to understand people, express yourself, have conversations, and enjoy connecting with Italians—without being afraid of making mistakes.
